Normal by Secret Poetess

‘Normal’ is a cycle on a washing machine.

The result of your ‘bloods’ when they come through clean.

The beating of your heart when your heads in a mess.

The tears down your face when you couldn’t care less.

‘Normal’ is the status of your dental check.

The glands you feel inside your neck.

The despair you feel when you can’t get through.

The shame you feel – no matter what you do.

‘Normal’ is the daily journey you take.

The things you say – the mistakes you make.

Typical conventions, acceptable norms.

Human beings in myriad forms.
