The other night I was fortunate enough to encounter three baby owls. (Since they could fly they were probably adolescents or teens). They fluttered between the huge evergreens that line the backyard occasionally diving onto the grass to pick up bits of food. The little babes were very aware of my presence (and my flame’s). Their glowing, yellow eyes appeared to be staring straight into my soul dissecting my very existence.
We gave them the names Artemis, Archimedes, and Athena. Artemis is the Greek Goddess of the hunt, chastity and nature; a strong and athletic female archetype, Archimedes is a Greek inventor, astronomer, engineer, philosopher and mathematician, and Athena is the Greek Goddess of wisdom, courage and justice.
