The Precipice by The Secret Poetess

The princess stood on the precipice,

Of a wide and daunting cliff.

Her fear keeping her mind alive,

Her bones as steel, so stiff.

She looked below and saw the water,

Raging at the rocks.

Her heart beating inside her chest,

A song of stinging shocks.

Reminding her of being alive,

Of tales, too old to tell –

Of days escaping heaven –

Through years spent chasing hell.

On the brink of finally falling,

To feel ultimately free…

The princess ran from the precipice,

& lived – respectfully.

Knowing that in heaven,

In hell or on the edge.

Life was never easy.

Never long enough to fledge.
